Week Weithout Walls Hambantota 2010

On 8th Feb to 12th Feb, grade 11 went to Hambantota for week without walls. Hambantota is located in the south of Sri Lanka. Over there we were given the job of painting 2 schools. The grade was divided into 2 groups with 15 kids in each. The group names were the Huna and Shah. We had 3 days to finish this task. In our group we split the tasks and divided it equally amongst ourselves. On the day we arrived to the school we were warmly welcomed, and the kids gave us flowers. We were happy to see them and they were happy to see us. In the mornings we played with them for half hour and then started painting. We taught them how to play, games that they had never played before. It was a pleasure seeing them playing and smiling. at the end of the day, we all were really tired because we had been in the heat paint all day. it took us three days to complete the whole school and the last day we put up a concert for them and they did the same for us. We then distributed school bags with stationary and cloths for the children, they were really happy to see and it, and we also felt good that the end of the day we managed to make the school environment better and see a smile on thier face :)

Habitat for Humanity ( H4H)
In my previous school, we had the same CAS. So when i heard about H4H i was excited to try it out and i singed up my name for it. It is a very interesting CAS because we organized movie nights and raise money, this is more diffterent than what we were doing back in my old school. This year i wanted to do something els, and that was Cleft Clip and Palate Disorder, this CAS was started by one of my friends, and i thought that i could help him by running this CAS, and also i had never aware of what children went though if they had this syndrome, so i wanted to learn about it more. I think i made a good decision and we have successfully come up with some interesting plans to raise money and raise awareness.
